Lion King

We made a trip to Sacramento to see the production of Lion King. The kids loved the show. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Smyth for a great Christmas present.

Words

Ryder came up to me today and said "an idiot is an imbecile."

Okay, I had no witty comment, I just said "Oh."

Memorial Day Weekend

New Brighton State Beach is the place you will find our family over Memorial Day. For the last 10 years(minus one that was spent in Monterey while the park was being repaired) we have gone camping at New Brighton State Beach. The kids love it and so do we, it is a wonderful trip.

The Keala's, the Granges, and Paul(aka G, Po) joined us this year for camping.

Jack and Ryder are waiting for their jacuzzi to fill.

Flaming marshmallows.

Campfire songs.  Sarah was in charge.

Yummy breakfast!  Not pictured is the dutch oven with the Mountain man breakfast prepared by our friends the Keala's.

Sticks.  In abundant supply.

Flashlight light saber duels.

Brandon, Jen, Sydney, Ryan, and Paul.

This tree was rarely without a child in it.

The best part of building a sand castle is smashing it according to Jack and Ryder.

Disneyland

Both sets of grandparents, cousins from both sides of the family, and Disneyland = Tons of fun!

Road trip to Anaheim.

Starting in Fantasyland for the first rides of the day.

We were excited to spend time with Uncle Adam, Aunt Candace, Graham and Carter.  They are moving to Massachusetts so we won't get to visit them often.

Sarah showing Ryder and Jack how Jedi Training is done.  The boys were not to sure about volunteering for this on the first day at the park.

Grandpa Doug is a good sport.  He gets a little motion sick.

Cousin Sam and Ryder liked Tarzan's treehouse.

Waiting for the Dole pineapple floats.

Done with day one at the park.

Grandpa encouraging his grandkids.

Day two.  It was like waiting for stores to open the day after Christmas.  Ryder, Jack and Joey are ready to sprint to the new Toy Story Mania ride.

The boys and I rode the Ferris Wheel while the others went on California Screamin'.  I told the boys I was taking a picture of the scenery because Jack did not want his photo taken, hoping to just snap one of them anyway.  Yeah, they outsmarted me.

Grandpa and Grandma Smyth with our family at my favorite ride.

Playing with gum while waiting for the parade.  Yes, it did eventually end up on Joey's sweats.

Ryder

Back to Disneyland for some more rides and the fireworks.  My parents kept the boys and they fell asleep before the fireworks started.

Our last day started out at Autotopia.  The kids loved driving the cars.

While waiting for Ryan after a ride, the boys and I checked out the Jedi Training one more time.  This time the twins were chosen and were very excited about battling Darth Vadar and Storm Troopers.

Ryder

Using the force to push back the Storm Troopers.

Jack

Getting tired.

Grandma and Granpa Carrick with our family.

One last ride on the Nemo Submarine.  Good thing we brought the glow sticks to play with while waiting in line. (Thanks Cate)

We had a very magical and amazing vacation.
